Today is Valentines Day and I decided to surprise Brian with a gift and a card.
I made some fabric paper using the Beryl Taylor method and then cut out lettering using my Cricut Expression and the new programme I have bought, Make The Cut, is was very good and very easy to use, I made an extra heart in more red rose fabric and made a papercard box to house it, all embellished in tru Valentine fashion. He loved them both and then made ME tea in bed. Cool hey.
I was lucky enough on my trip to the UK in October to visit
Ally Pally and to see Steffi Francis, I bought her Silk Carrier Rod Necklace Kit and here it is finished, It is very pretty

Friendship Hugs

I then decided to make little paper boxes to put the Friendship Hug Heart in and give them as gifts. I hope you like all the new projects I have had such fun in making, Watch this space for more soon!!!

Friendship Hugs

I then saw an idea which I thought would be fun and made some of these hearts for Valentines Day but I used rose fabrics, instead of Red fabrics.

Golden acyrlics on Aluminium

Silk Carrier Rod Box

We then made a Silk Carrier Rod Box from the December issue of Stitch magazine, We unravelled the carrier rods and laid them vertically onto pelmet vilene and overstitched using a heavy thread in the bobbin, This was lined in a dyed felt. This was a lovely project to make.

Covered Spiral Bound Book

This project we used a spiral bound notebook and recovered the back and front covers with tissue paper and then sprayed these with Moonglow sprays, We then made a felt spine cover and embellished it with transfoiling and machine embroidered pipe cleaners.

Baby wipe book cover

This little notebook had a cover which had been made from procion dyed baby wipes, the effect was like silk, We made signatures to go inside and handstitched them in place.

Three day retreat

The next exciting thing to happen was that my friend Diana from paris came to stay for four days, a sort of retreat, we had a truly great time, played and made art for three solid days. Here are some pictures of our fun.

I then found time to finish a project I had started before taking our trip, a pink on black velvet handbag, foiled, embroidered and beaded. This proved to be quite a challenge, but Yo! its done.

Snowbabes

Snowbabes

My Patchwork group here in Benet had a Christmas Fayre and I made Snowbabes to sell on our stall, they were a huge success and great fun to make, Here is a picture

Starting my Blog up again

Hello everybody,
Gosh where has the time gone, Brian and I went off for three months travelling across France and over the Alps into Italy then up the foothills of the Alps to the North Coast of France and over to England and then off to New York for Brian's 65th Birthday Bash and to see my youngest son and his wife and our two grandchildren, then back to England for a month to catch up with all our friends before Christmas. We dashed home just in time for all our family to arrive for Christmas and we had the best Christmas we have had for years.
Then I caught a cold, which became flu and then bronchitus, then an abycss in my throat, Oh dear another 6 weeks gone by.
So at last I am feeling better and ready to start blogging again.
I have done some small projects during this time, the first being some whacky Angels for the Christmas tree, I made many of these and gave them as gifts to my girlfriends for Christmas.
