Jelly Roll Tryptich
Last year at the Malvern Show I bought a Jelly Roll and joined the strips together whilst away in our caravan, I finally got around to making something with the strips this Easter, I added some cor-ordinating fabrics and decided to use the templates from Louise L. Smith's book Strips and Curves, I designed the layout myself and used two different size blocks, Thats why the centre panel is shorter than the two outside panels. I am very pleased with the finished wall hanging and brian has hung it in our salle du jour. (day room) Enjoy
Flower Pounding
Well , there is a new craze around, its called Flower Pounding and its great fun, I book the book at the Nantes expo and went to stay with my great friend Wendy, near Toulouse and we both had a great time Flower Pounding, its just collecting fresh petals from the garden and laying them on to calico or silk and covering either with more calico or masking tape and using a wooden mallet, pounding the petals until the dye comes into the fabric, it give the shape of the petal and the colours are gorgeous, leaves are brilliant too. Well worth a try!
